Suspicious ‘pipes with wires’ removed from downtown Louisville, FBI investigates

A suspicious item that was found in downtown Louisville has been removed and the FBI will now investigate. Police responded at around 8:15 a.m. Friday and found a device they said appeared to be a pipe with wires sticking out of it. The object was in the area of ​​Fifth and Jefferson streets under a bus stop. It’s near the PNC building, which is currently being renovated, and not far from the courthouses, city hall, and the metro. The demining team was observed on the scene and at least two robots went to the site of the object. Around noon, the LMPD Hazardous Incident Response Team truck arrived.
