THE WOODLANDS, TX – The weather this past week has been hot and humid. With bright blue skies, beating sun and air conditioning still running, there were incessant pleas for cloud cover for relief. Unfortunately, even the coming shade cannot reduce the heat that will blast us over the weekend.
Clouds will trap moisture, creating a sweltering weekend
With the high reaching 99 degrees, don’t expect a cooling anytime soon. Take the opportunity now to put away your sunglasses and take off your sun hats, as we will start with a rather cloudy Friday morning which will later give way to sunny skies.
Although we started out in the morning in our upper 70s, the humidity follows the morning dew but dries up in the afternoon, hitting the 90s just in time for lunch. A rather sunny rest of the day follows, as well as an increase in heat. Only as the night wears on do we see a dip into the 70s for a low.
Saturday we will continue with a completely cloudy day. With no break until evening, the steady rise of 77 leads to our hottest day this weekend. Peaking at 5:00 p.m., the weather will hit a crushing high that will feel like 104 degrees as a shift in clouds moves in to let in more sunshine. A transition from mostly to partly cloudy turns into a clear sky night and a steadily declining sunset at 8 a.m.
To end the week, Sunday begins in the same way; the only difference is that around noon mild winds will pick up. A light breeze to partner with warm air, a mostly sunny afternoon is the perfect way to end the week. Temperatures will rise and threaten to break 100, so be sure to stay hydrated.
Sunday evening gave way to a partly cloudy Monday morning.
